What We Offer

My name is Debora, and I was born in central Italy.

I graduated in Social Sciences in 2006, and I have always been deeply passionate about human relationships as well as about the wonderful Italian language, my mother tongue, so loved by millions of people all over the world.

From an early age, I developed a strong interest in standard Italian diction and in speaking clear, neutral Italian, free from regional influences. Throughout my school years, Italian language and literature were always my favourite subjects at school, in which I consistently achieved excellent results, especially in grammar.

In 2006, after graduating, I travelled to Australia for a life-changing experience. There, I worked as an Italian teacher for one year, teaching in primary schools as well as in colleges and private schools for adults. During this time, I discovered my true passion for teaching Italian.

After further training, I decided to found La Dolce Lingua Italiana, a school that, with dedication and patience, helps people from all over the world fall in love with the Italian language.

I firmly believe that in a relaxed environment, where people feel comfortable, never judged, but always respected and motivated, everyone can learn, at any age. 

I still fondly remember my very first private student, Val, who at the age of 75 contacted me for Italian lessons despite having never studied the language before. Her motivation and determination strengthened my belief that it is never too late to learn something new. Remarkably, after just over a year, Val and I were able to have meaningful conversations entirely in Italian.

It has now been 15 years, and I have had the privilege of accompanying hundreds of students on this journey. 

As I have said since the very first lesson, the path can be long and sometimes challenging, but the journey is always worth the effort.
